People! I’m so excited to share with you that I’ve been chosen as the 2020 recipient of Consano’s Ripples of Hope Award!
This is the announcement that was sent out to the world:
I’m SO honored to be chosen– I’ve been figuring my way through battling with oligo for the last 9 months, and it feels really good to be recognized for that work! I know that I am just at the beginning of this though, and so I am also feeling SO motivated to keep on going. And did I mention that the 2019 winner was Tom Brokaw! I get a little star-struck every time I think about that…
The award will be presented here in Portland, OR, at ConsanoPDX — it will be held at the Portland Art Museum. You can click on this link to get tickets if you are in town– I hope to see lots of familiar and friendly faces there.
The Theme is “The Future is Now” — and people are incouraged to wear futuristic outfits:
I’m not sure how “futuristic” I’ll be, but — man! I’ll be glad to be there!
Now… I’m going to need to prepare more than a kick-a$$ outfit! I need to be able to express my sincere gratitude on stage to lots of people, and practice an acceptance speech. So… over the next week or two, if you are wondering why I’m not writing on this blog– it’s probably because I’m working on that!
Way to go!
